Under Construction

I have the blueprints. I’ve read books. Bought some cement deck blocks and lumber to start laying out a design. Determine where it’ll fit in my backyard. The plan is to use the structure as a practical space. A workshop or maybe storage. Since we live within the city limits, however, I’m waiting on a permit and permission to build. Despite the detailed site plan I submitted, the city planner wants more information, wants to know if I measured from the street or the property line, wants to know if I have a survey. Imagine the questions they’d have if I told them what I’m really doing is building a replica of Henry David Thoreau’s cabin.
